Sabrina Bruce for Herndon Town Council
I spent twelve years serving our country.
Now I’m asking to serve our town.
I moved to Herndon in 2022 while I was serving in the Space Force. I was looking for a house in a community that was walkable, had access to the metro, and felt unique. I found all of those here in Herndon.
After Donald Trump fired me from the military in 2025 for being transgender, I chose to make Herndon my home. It was a natural fit because here in Herndon, I found more than just a home, I found a community.
Politics was never my plan, but the moment we are living in calls for action. Herndon has come a long way. But we still have room to improve. I promise to fight for a more walkable, affordable, and safer town. So everyone can find a community here in Herndon.
Who is Sabrina Bruce?
Sabrina Bruce is a twelve-year veteran of the Air Force and Space Force. She enlisted in the military in 2013 and has served around the world in assignments that have taken her from Djibouti to the UK over to South Korea. All the while forging a path that was not about identity, but about showing up and getting the work done.
In 2025, Sabrina was fired from the military by Trump because she is transgender. Instead of letting that define her, she refused to shy away from her commitment to service.
Now, Sabrina is ready to continue her service as a member of Herndon Town Council.
Here is what I’ll fight for
Transit - Everyone in Herndon deserves to be safe. That is why I will work to ensure whether you’re walking, biking, or driving, that your safety is a given and not a gamble. Pedestrians and bikers are too often an afterthought. I want to change that so bikers and pedestrians have just as many options and don’t have to be wrapped in two tons of steel to feel safe.
Transparency - As your representative, my job is to serve the people I am representing. The decisions made in the Town Council have a lasting impact, and you deserve a leader who is willing to sit down and discuss their votes.
Transformation - Herndon has long been an affordable option here in Fairfax County. But prices have continued to rise here. Now, our poverty rate is the among the highest in Fairfax County. I will fight to fix that by working with the county and our State Legislature to find solutions for this crisis.
